wild
Wild is written in a gripping and exhilarating way. But what I am most gripped by is its content. Griffiths is really well read and she name drops appropriately, not for the sake of it, giving the reader relevant references on what to read if interested in specific subjects, quoting people along the way.

This books describes her journey around the world, parted by elements. Hers is an extremely rich phenomenological approach to writing and an environmentalist and anthropologist mind and heart is revealed in her overt political stances.

Wild Earth chapter, picks a nimble path through what I imagine was a really intense journey. In this chapter, my thirst for indigenous cultures was being quenched, only to became even more thirsty, because Griffiths gives out some inside knowledge related to shamanic plants and the language associated with them. Language is a constant interest in my work and since I started associating a kind of spirituality to art I have been more open to incorporating this "magic" side of life into the ways I experience and create art.

This book has inspired me to pursue ways of realising a research project I came up with, having applied to the LabVerde AER residency and the MEAD Fellowship (the latter, to which I got shortlisted) with it.
