The Student Union opened submissions for "Love and Rage", an exhibition which core idea was artistic response to the current political climate. The curators of the show, namely the Student Union representatives, liked my work to be exhibited at Green Week's event programme's at CSM instead.

This experience taught me that if exhibitions are not being put together by curators, they can be troublesome and not very well installed.

I was happy to be selected, especially given the context/premise of the exhibition - Green Week - however, it was disappointing to see that the film piece I was selected for, was installed in a very impromptu manner, not put on a loop, and with health and safety issues (which also translated in presentation issues) surrounding the position of the projector and extension leads.

The work selected by other artists was of fine quality overall, but some of the pieces also lacked rigour in presentation.

SKILLS:

- opportunity to be critical of the exhibition's display

- work with a non-professional curatorial team
